JSP is used as a Server Programming Language, and is basically the combination of Java code and HTML.

JSP:

• Is very powerful on very large web applications due to the use of Servlets, JSP and Filters.
• Since it uses Java code it has all of the Exceptions and Objects that Java uses.
• Servlets and JSP are very safe.
• Servlets and JSP are either compiled or interpreted depending on the situation, which allows a lot more posibilities.

IDE

The Integrated Development Enviroment that is most used to program JSP is Netbeans, although Eclipse is also frequently used.
